Background

Bicycles were the mode of transportation when I was a child. We never had a car so we walked, took a bus or train or rode the bicycle. Sometimes the family would travel on a bicycle with one riding, one on the cross bar, one on the carrier at the back and if we are really pressed one could sit on the handlebars.

The bicycle is a favorite item to craft using wire in South Africa so I collected a few and made one of my own.
