Conflicts
- Injustice is the basic source of conflict. If it were whole, fair,
acceptable to all, then there would be harmony in justice. If there are parties
that are harmed, excluded, or separated, then those affected would see the
injustice. The way to avoid escalating conflict is to have forums of redress. Usually if
something causes adverse affects and is brought to the attention of those who
can initiate change, and they are willing, then conflict can be avoided by
addressing the injustice and making a condition whole. Once the mechanisms for
redress breaks down or are lacking, then conditions of injustice will lead to
escalating conflict.
- Oppression: Prejudice and Discrimination prejudice in its simplest
form is prejudging people. Whether it is natural or not may be debatable but
prejudice in and of itself is not necessarily harmful. If prejudice leads to
discrimination in the sense of socially imposing restrictions, then it is a
serious social injustice that is oppressive and will lead to consequent
resistance. resistance to oppression leads to repression.
- War is the ultimate violence between and among people.
War has progressed with technology in destructive force. War is based on the
premise that if one party wants to impose its will, that party is justified to
do so through means of force. war has never been a lasting solution but it is a
lasting philosophy because of its short-term appeal. War is a failure as a
long-term solution.
